'The Importance of Correct Corseting'

Joseph Sweater Matthew 19:21 June 12th: After much stress, the sweater is finished. First, I redid the sleeves to reduce underarm bulk. Then, I felted it. The knit was too loose, as in order to get the right gauge, I had to use number 17 needles. Unable to find a correct size zipper in time, I sewed on some clasps. And there we have it. The sweater is extremely imperfect, with two different sleeve lengths, unmatched bottom sides and funky arm shaping. However, the bottom line is that some child will be warm. Doing this sweater helped me learn:
June 8th: The sweater is all finished, besides some weaving in of ends and adding the zipper. June 2: I spoke too soon. The sleeve pattern did not work out at all, so I ended up making some modifications. All the pieces are done and blocking now. May 29: Finished both sides of the front and one sleeve. I've had to modify this pattern slightly due to pattern errors, but it is turning out well. Hopefully I can get the whole thing knit and blocking by tomorrow. May 28: Back of child's sweater finished and blocking. I'm having a lot of problems with these huge needle- the first and second stitches are way too big. I also knit the left front of the sweater, found it the wrong size, ripped it out, and re knit it. There are a few errors in this pattern. May 27: Started Joseph sweater, for size 4-5, with Joseph knitty pattern and burly spun Brown Sheep wool.
